Genelyn lashes back at Bong: Senador na, hukom pa!

What would you do if you were in Genelyn Magsaysay's shoes?

The grieving mother caught between accepting her son, Ramgen Bautista (Ram Revilla)'s death while defending her other children Ramon Joseph (RJ) and Maria Ramona (Mara) Bautista who were charged with the killing their own brother expressed her dismay over her children's half-brother Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.'s 'meddling' with the tragedy her family is facing right now.

The written statement, which Genelyn herself read during a press conference held on Sunday, November 6, expressed her extreme disappointment over the police investigation process. She also answered why her daughter Ramona suddenly left the country after retracting her “abduction” statement.

Wala kayong karapatang magsalita for or in behalf of my children, because they are my children not yours.

Genelyn further assailed Bong for what she claimed as pre-judging the case against her children.

Senador na hukom pa,” she said.

Genelyn said Ramona had left the country out of “fear for her life.”

“Para po sa kaliwanagan ng lahat. My daughter left the country for fear of her life. It was a decision made by her and her alone as a mature married woman and I respect her decision. She did not leave without shedding light to what transpired on that fateful day of October 28 of which, she was an eye witness to the brutal killing of my son, of her brother Ramgen and therefore, my daughter Ramona has a direct personal knowledge about the incident. She is a state witness, not an alleged brutal killer."

Revillas' side of the story

On behalf of the Revillas, Senator Bong expressed that they will not stop until the truth behind his half-brother's death comes out.

He also has a message to Genelyn Magsaysay.

We want the truth kahit sinong tamaan. Wala tayong magagawa doon. We want justice for Ramgen," he said.

Genelyn’s children well supported

Meanwhile, Portia Ilagan spokesperson of the Revillas reaffirmed in an interview over TV5's “Paparazzi” on Sunday, November 6, that the Revillas are just after the truth and nothing more.

She recalled an incident during Ramgen's wake where Genelyn allegedly confronted Senator Bong Revilla after he informed her that the Paranaque police will be taking Joseph in for questioning.

"It was very unfortunate because nung gabing 'yun na sinabi na ni Senator (kay Genelyn Magsaysay), the Paranaque police called the Senator at ininform niya na kukunin nila si Joseph Bautista for questioning. We don't know the reason why so paglabas ng mansion, that was the time they took him, they invited him," Portia said.

Portia added that Senator Bong asked Genelyn to get a lawyer for Joseph. "Dineretso niya (Genelyn) kay Sen. Bong na ang sabi niya, 'You're the senator why don't you get a good lawyer for your brother! So ang sagot naman namin we were giving her a lawyer ayaw naman niya dun sa lawyer na binibigay kasi daw ilalaglag lang daw so kumuha nga sila ng own lawyer nila."

The spokesperson also said Senator Bong will never use his office to maneuver the course of the law. Secondly, hindi naman siya senador ng pamilya, senador siya ng bayan and Bong Revilla will be the last person to take into custody somebody na may dapat panagutan but uulit-ulitin po namin na ang stand ng mga Revilla is 'Let the law take its course, and if in his day in court Joseph or Ramona Bautista for that matter, are found innocent or guilty beyond reasonable doubt, dapat lang magdusa."

The same goes for a devastated Senator Ramon Revilla Sr., Ramgen, Joseph and Ramona's father. "Although physically impaired, yung' isip niya buong-buo, napakalakas ng loob niya. Unti-unti nilang pinaalam sa kanya yung pagkamatay ni Ramgen una, and then nahuli naman si Joseph, he would just count one to ten and then he said, 'well, let the law take its course,'" Portia said.

She added, "Sen. Bong Revilla and the whole family were as surprised as everyone (when Ramona left). Buong mundo, buong Pilipinas nasurprise na naman after nung nagbago siya ng kanyang statement the next thing she did was to abscond, umalis, and talagang nasorpresa lahat. So that you can come to a conclusion na yung pag-alis niya is a sign of guilt. Sign of guilt because bakit ka naman tatakbo. Nag recant ng statement and then followed by getting out of the country."

But did the Revillas really took for granted their half siblings like what Genelyn claims?

"I don't know how to qualify her statement. Kasi ano ba yung pinabayaan? I don't know because ang mga anak niya they go to the international schools, hindi naman nauutang yan hindi naman drop drop yan. And nakita naman po ng lahat kung anong klaseng bahay yung binigay sa kanila and it is in one of the plushiest subdivisions in Paranaque. At ang alam ko, her family, yung siyam na anak niya, na half brother and sisters nina Bong, eh mayroong monthly allowance yan. Siyam yun eh. All of them have cars," Portia said.
