Maricel Soriano snubs Philippine Court

MANILA, Philippines – The hearing on the physical and verbal abuse complaint filed against Maricel Soriano by 2 domestic helpers was postponed after officials of Barangay Poblacion, Makati granted the veteran actress’ request to reschedule it.
Soriano was a no-show at the barangay hall much to the dismay of media men and spectators who crowded the area to wait for the former Kapamilya talent’s arrival.
Instead of appearing personally, Soriano’s staff, identified as Ian Benedicto, handed over a letter prepared by her lawyer to the village officials.
Complainants May Cachuela and Camille Acojedo also expressed dismay over the delay, saying they could not afford to stay longer in Manila due to financial constraints.
Acojedo added their family and relatives in Zambales are already worried about their situation.
Cachuela and Acojedo ran away from Soriano’s household after the actress allegedly physically and verbally abused them. As of posting, the actress was still mum about the allegations.
The 2 household workers also disclosed that their recruiter called them to ask them about the case and if they were willing to just settle with Soriano.
Barangay officials granted Soriano’s request, but warned her that if she keeps snubbing the hearing, they will be forced to bring the complaint to the police. - Report from Zyann Ambrosio, ABS-CBN News
