The Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) has moved the arraignment of Juan Miguel Arroyo and his wife Angela for their tax evasion case to Jan. 12, 2012, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said Monday.
The court and the lawyers agreed to move the arraignment to January due to a pending motion for reconsideration, the BIR said in a statement. The arraignment was supposed to take place last Oct. 28.
The pending request of the Arroyo couple is for a travel permit to the United States.
Last April, the BIR filed a P73-million tax evasion case against the Arroyo couple
